DAY 1: ZAGREB – OSIJEK
Arrival at the Zagreb airport. Transfer from airport, sightseeing of Zagreb which includes old town, historical centre of the town with its St. Mark’s church with famous colorful roof with Croatian coat of arm Cathedral, Upper and Lower Town and Croatian National Theatre. After visit of Zagreb continue your drive to Lonjsko Polje. Reception at the hotel with welcome drinks and finger food. Free time for refreshment and rest. Dinner will be served in one of the traditional households or in a restaurant nearby Nature Park Lonjsko Polje. Overnight.
DAY 2: LONJSKO POLJE – ČIGOČ – KRAPJE – LONJSKO POLJE
After the breakfast transfer to Lonjsko Polje. Nature Park Lonjsko Polje is a swamp area where many rare vegetables and bird species found their home. A tour around village of storks – Čigoč. You will see more than 40 nests which stork make on the old traditional houses of Posavina. After the tour, lunch will be organized in Nature Park where you will enjoy homemade specialties. After lunch, you will visit Krapje – Architectural Heritage Village. Today Krapje is the European cultural monument. Wooden houses with covered outdoor stairs, porches which are decorated with details specific for this area. Free time for refreshment. Return to hotel. Dinner in one of the local restaurants. Overnight.
DAY 3: LONJSKO POLJE -PAPUK – BRAZJE – LONJSKO POLJE
After breakfast transfer to Nature Park Papuk. In Papuk you will visit geological monument – Rupnice. On the tour you will walk through education path where you will learn about phenomena of volcanic pillar. Next stop is an old quarry where the volcanic vain is visible. Transfer to forest of fir tree, beech and gigantic oak, which is a protected natural monument. There are two gigantic oaks which are 500 years old. Also, you will hear a story about a horse trail which Counts of this area used in the past. We will proceed with the walk toward stream Brazje. Lunch will be served in Hiking Home Jankovac . Rest and free time on meadows near the hiking home. Next stop is the path of the Count Janković. Count made a great tribute to development of this natural park. Return to hotel. Dinner. Overnight.
DAY 4: LONJSKO POLJE – ORAHOVICA – OSIJEK – BARANJA
After breakfast bus transfer toward town of Orahovica. After arrival and short break, you will visit educational trail from the Lake to middleage town of Ružica.
This is one of seven middleage towns in this area. While walking your guide will tell you story about history from Paleolithic hunter to cultural – historical inheritance. After arriving to the Lake you may enjoy sport activities during spring and summer. Our next stop is Osijek – center of Osijek- Baranja Country, where you will dine in a traditional Slavonian restaurant. After the lunch our tour continues in Baranja. Accommodation can be organized in a traditional household or in the hotel, depending on your wishes. Free time. Dinner will be served in the open, depending on the weather. Overnight.
DAY 5: BARANJA – KOPAČKI RIT – BATINA – BARANJA
After breakfast our tour starts in the Nature Park of Kopački Rit. Tour around the park with a local guide. Nature park of Kopački Rit is one of the biggest swamps in Europe and home for more than 250 bird species. After walking tour you will enjoy a boat tour thought rivers and lakes of Kopački Rit. After the boat tour lunch will be served in traditional fish restaurant where you can taste different fishes from this area, but also wild game. Short break and bus transfer to lookout and monument in Batina. From this point your view reaches 3 borders: Croatian, Serbian and Hungarian. The monument in Batina was made after the battle of Batina in Second World War that honors 1297 Soldiers of Red Army. Return to accommodation. Free time. Dinner. Overnight.
DAY 6: BARANJA – ĐAKOVO – SLAVONSKI BROD – ZAGREB
Breakfast. Visit to the one of the old village households where you will see and experience old crafts like pottery. Also, you will see the interior of the houses and the way of life in the past. Transfer to town of Đakovo, where you will visit the famous Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul and Lipizzaner Paddock which in 2006 celebrated 500 years of existence. Also you will be able to ride in a horse cab and see how the horses should be treated. After tour around Đakovo, our next stop is Slavonski Brod. In the area near the town there is a traditional household, where lunch will be served. After resting, the host will take us on the boat tour, which is the best way to enjoy nature of Sava River. You will be able to see life on the river side of Croatia and Bosnia. On the river you may see herds of cows, pigs and many different birds and fowls. Bus transfer to Zagreb. Dinner. Overnight.
DAY 7: ZAGREB
After breakfast departure to Zagreb Airport.
